Rubberwood

A hardwood commonly used in furniture manufacturing, obtained from rubber trees after their latex-producing life.

What is Rubberwood?

Rubberwood comes from rubber trees, primarily from plantations in Southeast Asia. The timber is harvested after the trees are no longer productive for latex and can then be processed for furniture and other applications.

It has a relatively light colour and generally even grain, making it suitable for staining and finishing.

Proper kiln drying and treatment are important because timber performance depends significantly on moisture control and processing.

Why Does Rubberwood Matter?

Rubberwood provides a useful furniture-grade hardwood while making productive use of plantation timber after latex production.
