Leatherette

A synthetic upholstery material designed to resemble the appearance and feel of genuine leather.

What is Leatherette?

Leatherette is a general term for synthetic leather-look materials used in furniture upholstery. Common constructions use polymer coatings such as PU or PVC applied over a textile backing.

Leatherette can be manufactured in different textures, colours and finishes and is often selected for its consistent appearance and relatively easy maintenance.

Performance varies significantly between grades, so factors such as abrasion resistance, coating quality and intended application should be considered.

Why Does Leatherette Matter?

Leatherette provides a consistent leather-like appearance and can be a practical upholstery option for residential and commercial furniture.
