Gas Lift

A pneumatic cylinder that allows the height of an adjustable chair to be raised or lowered.

What is Gas Lift?

A gas lift is a pneumatic cylinder used in height-adjustable chairs. It contains compressed gas that allows the chair seat to move vertically when the adjustment lever is operated.

Gas lifts are available in different sizes, stroke lengths and load ratings depending on the chair design. The cylinder connects the chair mechanism to the base and plays an important role in both height adjustment and structural support.

Quality and compatibility are important because the gas lift must be appropriate for the chair's weight capacity and mechanism.

Why Does Gas Lift Matter?

The gas lift enables smooth seat-height adjustment and is a critical load-bearing component of most modern adjustable office chairs.
