Full-grain leather uses the outer surface of the hide with minimal correction of the natural grain. Natural characteristics such as pores, grain variation and minor marks may remain visible.
Because the natural surface is retained, full-grain leather can develop a distinctive patina with use. The quality and appearance still depend on the source hide, tanning process and finishing.
Full-grain leather is generally considered a premium leather category, although the term itself does not guarantee a particular level of craftsmanship or furniture construction.
